OMG Release notes - v7.196.0
Key updates this release โจ
This release focuses on improving visibility, flexibility, and integration across OMG. New reporting capabilities and Activation Calendar enhancements provide richer insights and better tracking, while updates to Deliverables and Briefs streamline day-to-day workflows. We've also continued to improve the user experience with smarter file uploads, enhanced asset discovery, and more intuitive grid editing. Behind the scenes, we've taken a major step forward with the new OMG API, opening the door for seamless integrations while keeping OMG as the secure backbone for your business processes.
๐ Reporting Module
New 'Business Area Structure' Report ๐
Added a new report called Business Area Structure' under the Reporting tab. Users can now view a list of active business areas specific to their customer account. The report includes read-only parameters, metadata, and virtual paths.
๐ Activation Calendar
New columns in the Activation Calendar ๐
We've Introduced three new data columns for activation events
- Suitability Score: Triggered via an integrated scoring flow, this field evaluates reports and automatically applies a color-coded score: Green (target met), Orange (Score > 40), and Red (Score < 40).
- Production Mode: A status field that is displayed directly in the grid. While linked to deliverables, users can edit and update these statuses dynamically.
- Rationale: A new rich-text field. Users can click the icon to open a modal, enter detailed formatted notes, and save them for easy viewing.
๐๏ธ Planning
Estimator Workflow & Redirection ๐ ๏ธ
Resolved an issue with the project creation URL. Now, when a user accesses the Estimator URL, it seamlessly opens the details modal, creates the project, and automatically redirects the user to the Estimates tab. From there, users can easily add products, spaces, tasks, and data.
๐ฆ Deliverables
Pencil Workspace Integration ๐
Added a "Pencil Workspace" column in the Deliverables listing under Planning.
- Deliverables linked to a space will display the workspace name (clicking it opens the Pencil window).
- Unlinked deliverables display a link icon. Clicking this will instantly link the deliverable if only one workspace exists, or open a selection modal if multiple workspaces are available.
New Translation Statuses ๐
Added three new options to the Workflow Status dropdown to better track localisation: Ready for Translation, Translation in Progress, and Translated.
Stage Names โ๏ธ
Fixed a UI issue in the Jobs area where excessively long stage names were breaking the layout. Stage names will now automatically wrap to a new line after 255 characters.
โก Across OMG (Grid Updates)
Dynamic Grid Editing โ๏ธ
Users can now add and inline-edit four new columns directly within the grid: Job Type, Category, Media Type, and Media Sub-type. These dropdowns are dynamically interlinked (e.g., selecting "Social" as a category automatically filters and updates the available options in the Media dropdowns).
The OMG API & Integrations ๐
The biggest news this sprint is our work on the new OMG API. We are transforming OMG into a powerful "engine" that other tools can connect to.
- Open for Connection: We are exposing the internal workings of OMG through a secure API. This means external parties, trusted partners, and custom-built client tools can now seamlessly connect and push data directly into OMG.
- The "Core Backbone": Even as we open things up, OMG remains the secure "black box" that runs the business. It will continue to handle all your core business logic, access controls, security rules, and financials behind the scenes.
๐ผ Briefs
Enhanced 'Find Similar Assets' Flyout ๐
Upgraded the "Find Similar Assets" feature on the Brief details page. The right-hand flyout now displays helpful informational tags for each asset, including the Asset Type (e.g., Image) and Workspace visibility (e.g., Private).
Brief Creation Scrollbar โ๏ธ
Added a scrollbar to the "New Brief" creation dropdown in the Planning area, making it much easier to navigate long lists of brief types.
Optimised File Upload Process ๐๏ธโฌ๏ธ
Improved the file upload mechanism. When selecting multiple files, they are now held in a temporary session state rather than immediately uploading to the backend. Users can review, add, or remove files from the queue, and files are only committed to the system once the user explicitly clicks the "Upload" button.
