Convert an Accepted Brief into a Project
This article outlines the standard procedure for accepting a submitted brief and converting it into a new, actionable project. This process transitions a request from the initial planning stage to the execution and management phase.
Prerequisites
- You must have access to the platform with the appropriate permissions to accept briefs and create projects.
- You must have a brief that is in the "Submitted" status, ready for review and acceptance.
Step 1: Initiate the Conversion
- From the same "Details" page of the accepted brief, click the "Actions" button in the top right corner.
- A dropdown menu will appear. Hover your cursor over "Convert to" to reveal a submenu.
- From the submenu, select "Projects".
Step 2: Populate Project Details
- You will be directed to a new project creation form. Key information, such as the
TitleandDescription, will be automatically carried over from the original brief. - Locate the "Key dates" section on the right side of the screen.
- Click into the "External deadline" field. Use the calendar widget to select the appropriate date.
- Click into the "End date" field and select the project's end date from the calendar.
Step 3: Enter Financial Information
- Scroll down to the "Finance details" section.
- Click the "Billing entity" dropdown menu and select the correct entity from the list.
- Click the "Billing contact" dropdown and select the primary billing contact.
- Click the "Billing type" dropdown and choose the appropriate classification (e.g., "Chargeable work").
Step 4: Save and Finalize the Project
- After filling in all the necessary details, scroll to the top of the page.
- Click the "Save" button in the top right corner.
Result
Upon successful completion of these steps:
- A confirmation message, "Your project has been created successfully," will appear at the top of the page.
- You will be automatically redirected to the main dashboard of the newly created project.
- The navigation menu on the left will now display project-specific sections such as "Plans and Tasks," "Project assets," and "Deliverables."
- The original brief is now formally linked to this project for future reference.
